Vacation Response In Gmail

If you’re out of the office or on vacation, you should create a vacation/holiday response. This is an automatic email that will be sent out to the person who emailed you, just in case they don’t know that you’re away. This is very useful because it lets people know that you will be able to reply when you’re back from your holiday or conference.

It is very straightforward to create your own holiday response in Gmail. In this article, you will learn exactly how to create your own automatic response. It will be personalized to you, and you can also use cool typefaces too!

First, you need to open up your browser. This can be done through the Desktop or your Taskbar.

Then, you need to log in to your Gmail. Type www.gmail.google.com into your address bar and log in to your Gmail account. Make sure to type your password carefully.

When you’ve logged into your Gmail account, you will be brought to your Inbox. From the Inbox, click on the Settings wheel which is in the top right corner. It looks like a cog. From there, click on “Settings” in the little dropdown menu.

Once you’ve done that, a menu will open up. Scroll down to the section which is titled “Vacation Responder”.

You need to click on the radio button which says “Vacation Responder On”. If you’re going on holidays, for example, from June 10th to June 20th, you need to select that from the menu. To do that, click on the date option and select the date from the mini calendar.

You also need to type your Subject into the box. This is just a general subject, like “On Vacation” or “I’ll Reply To Your Message When I Return”.

Type your email into the box. A sample auto-reply email could go like this.

Hi there,
Thank you for emailing me. Unfortunately, I’m out of town right now. I will reply to your email in about two weeks’ time, probably by June 20th.
Thanks again!
Mark

Personalize the font of your email by clicking on the B buttons and I buttons above the menu. Simply highlight the text and then click on the B/I buttons in the menu bar. These will adjust the boldness of your text, or make them italic, for example.

If you want to, you can change the font by clicking on the “Sans Serif” button, and you will be given a range of font choices.

You can also change the font color by clicking on the button with an underlined A (shown in image below).

As you can see, it’s straightforward to create an auto-reply. Now, you can go on holidays carefree and know that whoever is emailing you is getting a response from you. That’s the power of automation.

And you’ll be able to write your replies to them when you return home, right?
