 1. False. Internet Explorer gives free access to e-mail. Internet Explorer is a browser, not a provider. You must sign up with a provider to go on line.

 2. False. For example, in Word >help, you will find a drop down- box. Click on Detect and Repair to see another drop-down box. Check in the box that says “discard my customized settings and restore my default settings”

 3. True. If this doesn’t work for you, there are several other “search engines”- Google is very good.

 4. False. Removing the shortcut doesn’t remove the program. To remove the program go to control panel>add/delete.

 5. False. External hardware, such as monitors and printers are not part of the computer per se. The computer is the box with all the internal items such as the CPO and the Hard Drive.

 6. False. Software consists of the programs and data that that control the functioning of the hardware.
